City of East Wenatchee

We sit on the beautiful Columbia River, across from Wenatchee, and are the home of the first non-stop, trans-Pacific flight of Miss Veedal. The pilots, Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon, departed Misawa, Japan and crash landed on the bluffs above East Wenatchee, on October 5, 1931. Every year, during the first weekend of October, we celebrate this historical event with our Wings & Wheels Festival.
