The Great Northern and Cascade Railway is a volunteer run, 7-1/2" gauge public railroad, museum and souvenir shop in Skykomish Washington. We are a Washington State 501c3 nonprofit organization with a focus on sharing the rich history of the Great Northern Railway throughout the Skykomish Valley and beyond.
We welcome guests to the depot museum and souvenir shop Thursday through Monday from 11:00am to 3:00pm year-round.
FREE, unlimited, miniature train rides are available SATURDAYS ONLY from the first weekend in May to the last weekend in October from 10am to 4pm.
Summer 2025: ***Due to a lack of volunteers, we are no longer able to offer train rides on Sundays.***
Our train rides take approximately 10-12 minutes on our double loop trip over 5000 feet of track. Our railroad also includes a tunnel, a snow shed and 2 bridges.
Locomotives will vary and can include electric or gas powered locomotives as well as propane, oil, and coal fired steam locomotives.
