The Pickett Museum, operated by the friendly local Index Historical Society docents, is a wonderful site to visit for information about area history, particularly the industries of the Skykomish River Valley (think mining, lumber, railroad, timber... and more mining!). Well-stocked with the incredible photography of Lee Pickett, railroad photographer and former Index resident, the museum is a family-friendly destination located in the community of Index - just 1 mile off of Hwy 2. Come stretch your legs, support local businesses, and enjoy a step back in time!
