Ross Dam Trailhead overlook is one of the only places you can see Colonial Creek Falls, is the tallest waterfall in the continental United States. Located in Washington's North Cascades National Park, it falls 2,568 feet in 13 distinct drops.

A short trail through the forest to the edge of Ross Lake and the top of Ross Dam. The trail crosses Happy Creek and drops down from the highway to the impressive Ross Dam. 

  • Difficulty: Moderate. 
  • Distance and elevation: 1.5 miles (2.4 km) roundtrip with 500 foot (150 m) elevation gain
  • Access: The trailhead is at milepost 134 on State Route 20.
  • Leashed dogs allowed.
