R&R in the Methow

Located in the heart of the Methow Valley, Twisp is a dynamic center for art, culture and adventure, with a down-to-earth atmosphere and friendly attitude. Swing by Twisp's downtown art galleries, play in its riverside park, relax at its luxurious spa, or take in an evening of theater. Enjoy Italian fine dining, pizza, burgers, tacos and more – or stop in to enjoy international wine tastings, sip award-winning microbrews from our on-site taproom, or get energized with world-class, locally-brewed coffee.

Saturday mornings from April to October, visit the Methow Valley Farmers Market, featuring hundreds of local farmers and artisans – then walk right across the street to TwispWorks, the 6-acre campus and active hub for artists, craftspeople, non-profit organizations and the community at-large.

Whether you’re looking for day-long recreation or a quick breath of fresh air, Twisp offers dozens of trailheads for dog-friendly hiking, riverside walking, mountain biking, and horseback riding – or snowshoeing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing, depending on when you visit! (Hint: just a few miles away you’ll find a no-lines, community-first ski/snowboard/luging/tubing resort that’s a hidden gem in Okanogan County!)

Can’t squeeze in all the fun in just one night? Stay in any of Twisp’s friendly lodging: bring your little buddy to a pet-friendly hotel, take delight in a homemade breakfast from a family-owned B&B, park your trailer at a riverside RV park, or simply pop up a tent at any number of nearby Forest Service campgrounds.

To learn more about Twisp and the Methow Valley, visit Twisp’s Visitor Information Center, located on Highway 20 in the historic Twisp School building (built in 1911), or visit www.TwispWA.com.

PS: From June through October, be sure to check out the nearby North Cascades Smokejumper base. It’s the birthplace of smokejumping, and the tours are free (as long as the brave young men and women at the base are not out fighting a forest fire). Call ahead to ensure availability.
